So I've been in the market for a steam vac lately. Now that Taylor's done potty-training (good heavens, I thought it would never end), the carpet in his room is in desperate need for a nice cleaning. When we first moved in, the carpet in the closet smelled
weird (even though we got the entire house cleaned professionally), and add that to a potty-training child and it smells not-so-good.
So I'm hunting for opinions. I've been looking at a few different ones. Hoover has a new one that is supposed to clean really well. Check it out
here. Another one I've been looking at is the Rug Doctor that Costco is carrying. It's the most expensive, and while I don't mind paying more money for a product that's going to last and clean better, if it's not going to clean $200 better, than it's not worth it. Check that out
here.Do any of you out there have a steam vac? Any recommendations? That carpet is desperate...

Let us know which one you choose -- my carpet has big dark circles. I'm dying to clean it, but haven't decided which one to buy either.
You're married to a doctor, I thought the help took care of that!
We just got a regular Bisle carpet cleaner- but I love it! No longer do I moan when my kids have accidents on the floor (ok, well maybe a little). Your "rodent" and accident stories cracked me up! Sam has a pair of kid scissors, so I will find like 10 fruit snack packages in the pantry with the tops cut right off. he also takes unopened break and cuts off the top right when it is twisted shut... what a darling!
I always rent the RugDoctor from the stores and it works great! But that's the only experience I've had with one... and i don't have to keep it lying around. I"m a ll about the rental.
So, this has nothing to do with spring cleaning. Ashley is going to come and visit around the 16th of July. She'll be here for about five days. Just wanted to let you know, as the time draws nearer we can make plans. Hopefully you'll be in town.
