From the Mouths of Babes

...or young missionaries.
Elder #1: "Wow, Sister Saunders! You look like you're about ready to pop! Aren't you due soon?"
Me: "Nope, not 'til November."
Elder #2: "Can you get much bigger than that?"
Me: *chuckle* "I still have two more months. I've got plenty of time to get bigger."
Elder #1: "Hey, pretty soon you won't be able to fit sideways through the doorway."
In their defense I really am getting big. I have two friends who are splendidly honest and tell me that I really do look further along than I really am. And Kent told me about a woman he saw in the clinic that was due in October, yet quite smaller than I am. The real proof? The fact that I was looking at a picture thinking, "when did I take a picture of Kent from behind?" A few seconds later I realized that it was MY behind I was looking at. When I get motivated I'll have to post a picture of my belly with Taylor compared to my belly now at the same time. I now weigh as much as I did when I delivered Taylor. Of course the two servings of brownies and ice cream that I've eaten today haven't helped...

You will totally lose it all once the baby comes :) Don't worry about it... Although, the Elders should learn not everyone will be so nice about their honesty. haha

You're adorable and have nothing to worry about. Love the post, though--we all feel that way sometimes (pregnant or not!! LOL).

Girls just need a little more luxurious padding. We had the missionaries from our ward over last night and all I can say is some of them just need to learn more tact. This is also why it is good to date/marry a returned missionary who has hopefully learned some of those lessons.

I think I would prefer that sort of humor. When I was pregnant with Evan my hubby would tell me that I looked like a fat girl trying to look pregnant. Men really can talk from their butts sometimes!

Steph that is too funny! I'm glad you're pounding the brownies and icecream to fill the void of Fuddruckers while you were pregnant with Erik! I would say to live it up and see how much you can gain while you're pregnant because it will totally fall off you once she's born. You're a tiny girl so just enjoy the extra girth for a while. You'll have to tell me the same thing on my next pregnancy when I start feeling horrible.

Oh, but your brownies and ice cream are oh, so good. We really need to get some Tillamook ice cream down here. I still dream about it sometimes.

Strut it baby! No man can ever produce such a beautiful, round belly only to have it disappear like it had never been there to begin with. Have I said how many men in my ward are checking on me (at church) and excited about my babies? Evidently I'm safe now since I'm so old I'd never think they were up to something.

It's been 10 years since I sported the b-belly, and I've had 10 years to observe how amazingly, unimitatably (is that a word?) beautiful a mother is.
